A visual language can feel unstable and still guide users cleanly, but only if the hierarchy is stricter than the mood.
Atmosphere is useful until it starts eating the interface. The challenge with any aggressive visual language is making sure the emotional texture sharpens the path instead of fogging it.
Mood cannot replace structure
The more stylized the surface, the more disciplined the underlying hierarchy has to be. Contrast, spacing, sequence, and interaction states need to become even clearer.
Distinctive does not mean noisy
The best experimental interfaces choose a few strong signatures and repeat them with control. The problem is rarely boldness; it is inconsistency.
Use disruption sparingly
Glitch, distortion, and scanline behaviors work best as accents around moments of emphasis. When everything flickers, nothing feels intentional.
Users will tolerate a surprising interface when it still respects their momentum.
